Guest guest
> Cod Liver Oil - Please help! > > >Oh my gosh guys. I FINALLY got Cod Liver Oil (Garden of Life >brand oil). After all the talk about you all taking it and kids >taking it, I really did NOT expect it to have any taste!! I put >it in my morning kefir protein shake. Oh my gosh. The first >second it went into my mouth it was good and that SCHMACK SCHMACK >of FISH taste...STRONG FISH TASTE. I wonder if that's cuz it's rancid? In any case, Consumer Labs, an independent testing lab, tested several brands of fish oil and a few brands of CLO. Only two products didn't pass the test. GOL CLO was one of them and the reason it didn't pass the test is because it was too oxidized (rancid). It contained compounds that suggested it had both long and short-term oxidation. I don't know if they just got a bad bottle or something, but I would not trust this brand of CLO unless I was totally confident that they've addressed the oxidation issue thoroughly. Oxidized oils are definitely something to avoid! Suze Fisher Lapdog Design, Inc. Web Design & Development http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze3shjg Weston A. Guest guest
Has anyone contacted GOL about this? I haven't, but I should... it would be good for them to know that their customers (I buy GOL when I need some and don't want to mail order) are aware of the problem and concerned about it.
