Funny -- I was not thinking of you at all when I made my comment. I was specifically recalling Chris' horror at the prospect of losing 10 pounds of muscle by doing a detox. I found his pictures when I uploaded my liver cleanse pic and realized that he's got plenty of muscle to work with. There is no question that losing LBM if you are already at low levels is not a good thing and efforts should be made to preserve it. This is a very interesting question and one that I think about regularly. Since it really requires some pretty advanced dietary trickery to get below 12% while maintaining your muscle mass you may well be correct. That's about a third of what I've gained since working out, over about 2 years. Nevertheless, I'm trying the VCO / lemon-water fast as soon as I get my VCO in. Probably Monday, hopefully. IMOO (the first O is for " objective " ), it ought to disqualify you for a lot of things. Besides, there's only one of me now. If I let another member in, it gets a lot harder to assemble a quorum. I experienced it as a brilliant attempt to look at the nature of masculinity and femininity in a different way. I've never read a book like it before or since. Sounds like you would consider that to be a good thing, right? > > > Does that disqualify me for membership in the NN Objectivist club? > > IMOO (the first O is for " objective " ), it ought to disqualify > you for a lot > of things. Reading _Atlas Shrugged_ was truly one of the three or four most influential events in my life, but I've moved on. I tend to look at works by the results that they produce and the Objectivist universe is a particularly nightmarish place of discontent and recrimination. That being said, there is no question that my understanding of the world is still fundamentally informed by the knowledge I gained from my avid reading of all of Ayn's works in the mid to late 1980's.
