Guest guest
, LOL. I've got to tell you the truth just because you'll think it's funny too...hopefully. I picked this name because everyone needs a semi-intimidating name when they play games on yahoo. When my husband and I were separated (not in the ways of divorce, business on his end and finishing college on my end made us live apart for a while) we would play Literati on Yahoo every couple of nights during the week. Since I already had that name from a couple of years ago, I just kept it for this board too. *hugs* Jere > > I try to keep interactions with Nada to occassional phone > calls/Christmas/holiday calls and the " duty " photos of my daughter. > If Dad weren't in the picture, I probably would do less. > This group has inspired me to extend my boundary and limit setting to > my interactions with Nada. You will find support here. For once, > you won't be the " lonewolf! " And boy did I know how that felt!! > > ((((hugs)))) >
Guest guest
Wow and lonewolf, your stories are pretty frightening for me, too! Right now, I don't have the luxury of living away from home. I've likened my situation to Job. After I left my job (supervisors hated me - which always sounds like an excuse, but it was the truth this time), I moved back home. Almost exactly a month later (5 days before Christmas), I totalled my car - which had been in the family for the past 9 years...I was so devastated - I felt like I had lost a family member! Now, I have to drive my Dad's car (the only one that isn't a stick shift..), which is an old BMW 750. Don't get me wrong, I'm fortunate - I could be borrowing an old POS. It's black, beautiful and has a kickin' sound system! I like to escape every once in a while...but it eats up so much gas, it's ridiculous! I simply don't have the money to keep it gassed up - it's on empty right now. And Dad's about to sell it, too. Now, I actually found out today that I have the opportunity to get a job, but, of course, I'm worried about this gas guzzler of a car. My other car was compact and had great gas mileage. So, I can't " run away from home, " like I did one time...It's just not possible. And trying to ignore my Mom in this house is a huge sign of disrespect...I'm glad the two of you have been able to separate yourselves...right now, my boundary is my room, and Mom breaks that one constantly, even though I've told her time and again! I'm sorry that there are others out there who have to pick up the pieces when someone is upset and is having suicidal thoughts...I've been in that situation way too many times over the past couple of months... Guest guest
Oh, mind if I jump in here - I love Literati...it's like an online version of Scrabble...I think what's frustrating is that just about anything qualifies as a word, even though it says they use a dictionary. My fave game is pool. It's pretty fun...right here on Yahoo! (Ha! I'm making a plug for Yahoo! Games.) These make for definite stress relievers. Guest guest
, Literati is just like Scrabble basically. A few changes here and there, but basically a word game. I love words and learning new words and if it weren't for my love of language, writing and talking I don't think I would've ever made it this far. But then again, my brother is dysgraphic (brain has problems making it from thought to paper and his handwriting's pretty bad) and he's doing pretty good now days too. Kere- had a typo before
Guest guest
W- I like Mah Jongg too but it takes a while to catch on- kind of like Rummy or something. Gotta click on the English version though. We've got the game here at home and play sometimes. I have another friend who also likes to play it. I just started the daily crossword in the post again (need to challenge the gray cells :-)) Looking forward to giving it a mental shot.
