If you really did drink that much straight, then maybe you " burned " your throat with too much acid. Or maybe it cleared out something! For a cough or sore throat we will sometimes have a spoon of ACV and a spoon of honey straight. Debbie in TX

I drink ACV mixed with honey on occasion and have never had a problem as you describe. I also add ACV to salads as a dressing, which essentially means I've been consuming it raw. I would guess it's a coincidence that you came down with a throat infection after drinking the ACV.

I am thinking maybe I overdid the quantity, as someone else suggested in another post. I drank almost 8 oz straight - without honey or water. -Pratick __________________________________ Discover Stay in touch with email, IM, photo sharing and more. The stuff I drink is mixed 50-50 by volume; ACV and unfiltered, raw honey. I usually fill a glass with about 3-4 oounces and then add another 1-2 ounces of water to dilute it a little bit. It's still pretty strong and sometimes I get the shakes for a second after it goes down. Maybe that's only me. Didn't drinking that much make your stomach burn? If I drink too much I get the same feeling that I get when I have heartburn/reflux. Hope that helps,
Guest guest
I don't think ACV was meant to be drunk straight. I buy Bragg's organic, they put out a book on its uses. I drink a lot of water and usually have a quart thermal mug of it handy. I put about a tablespoon of ACV in this mug. I like the taste of it. I also put the diluted ACV in my birds and dogs drinking water. http://www.naturallyhealthypet.com/acv_for_birds.htm Re: Drinking ACV I bought a jar of ACV made locally by a farm. > Drank 1/2 glass from it. > The next day, I came down with a bad case of throat infection, almost to > the point where > I could not talk for several days. > It has taken me almost a week to recover from that. Guest guest
I'm amazed that anyone could drink 8 oz of ACV straight. Wasn't it immediately apparent that you'd done damage? You can't drink ACV straight and I doubt it's a good idea to drink that much at one time regardless of how you consume it. I'd stick to one tbsp or so diluted in water. Chris On 6/22/05, L. From what I have read, the recommended dosage for ACV is around 3T per day, and I try to get that from salad dressing, or adding a T to my spring greens Jo
