It is enough to make me start to question the correctness behind its nutrtional premises. What is it about NT that seems to inspire such pro corporate nastiness? I dunno. I'm very disillusioned with this list right now. ____ [Chris] I'd like to point out that the original intent of this thread was very food-related. It was initiated by a comment about how issues of food safety could be addressed, since environmental issues affect the quality of our food. This is an important question to this list and our movement and deserves our attention. We do not eat in a vacuum, but live, develop, and eat our food within a greater system where we interact with individuals, businesses, and governments, all of whom affect our food in some way, sometimes through voluntary interactions, and sometimes involuntary interactions (pollution and pasteurization laws are both examples of the latter.) Clearly the current system is not working. What's the solution? To make environmental restrictions stronger? To wage class action suits against producers of GE foods that are polluting organic foods and making their products unsaleable? Are there any unworkable aspects or inadvertently reached problems with either approach? Are there other approaches we haven't thought of yet? Unfortunately this discussion went on some considerable tangents and also got hijacked to become a discussion about the morality of some people which further distracts from the point. But it isn't an irrelevant thread, as Miriam had suggested. Chris
