ANNOUNCMENT

AUTISM HEARINGS

On January 11, 2007, you are invited to present

testimony to the

Texas Council on Autism and Pervasive Developmental

Disorders

The Council is interested in hearing your comments

regarding the many issues facing people with autism

spectrum disorders and their families. You are

invited to testify regarding issues you consider

important related to:

· Transportation

· Employment

· Housing

· Law Enforcement

· Education

· Assessment and Eligibility

· Limitations of Waiver Programs for Autism

· Council’s 2007 State Plan on Autism

· Issues not included in the State Plan

· Research

· Insurance limitations and barriers

WHEN AND WHERE

State Capital

Room E1.013

10:00 am to 3:00 pm

January 11, 2007

Please plan for a 3-4 minute presentation, depending

on attendance. Therefore, if possible, have an

expanded version of your presentation in writing for

the Council. If you are unable to attend, please

send your presentation in writing to the Council’s

Austin office to the attention of Kaufman.

The State Plan will be posted to the Council’s web

site before the end of 2006, so prior to the hearings

you may access and review the State Plan at

www.autismcouncil.org. Prior to public testimony,

there will be several invited speakers who are experts

in the delivery of public services to individuals with

autism spectrum disorders.
