Guest guest
Hi Listmates: We're preparing for an ARD meeting and need your help. We are trying to get a random sampling of what some school districts in Texas are doing for autistic preschoolers. If you can afford five minutes to help us, we'd be very appreciative. What we would like to know from those of you who have your preschooler enrolled in public school is this: 1) What methodology (curriculum) are they using in your school (TEACCH, ABA, etc.)if you know? 2) What is the ratio of your child's class (teacher to student ratio). 3) If you know, what are the teacher and teacher's aides' qualifications (masters in Special Ed.? Just a special ed. certification? Any autism-specific training?) 4) What related services (ST, OT, Tomatis) is your child receiving? In what setting (group, 1:1)? And how often are they receiving these services (once/week? Twice/week? an Hour?) 4) What are they doing " right " for your kid – i.e, what are the good points about your program? We know everyone is busy taking care of their special needs child, but if you have a minute to reply it would be most helpful to us. Thank you, Weber
