Okay hang with me this may be weird. My 11 year old has taken a new

interest in the Spanish language. He's picking up books at the bookstore

that are in English and Spanish and he is turning on the Spanish

stations on TV. Matt has limited verbal skills limited to wants and

needs and simple sentences. I'm not sure I want to encourage him to

speak Spanish? I don't speak much Spanish and our family is German. To

my knowledge Matt does not have any exposure to Spanish at school nor do

any of my other kids friends speak Spanish. What the heck? Have any of

you ever seen this? Should I encourage it? Trina
