It was always my understanding, too, that it had to do with

immunosuppression - i.e. people with existing immune response issues should

never do raw dairy without strict supervision and a keen eye to quality

(doesn't help to have raw milk if it's improperly handled to start).

Reasoning being the whole deal about bacteria outcompeting each other, but

immunosuppressed people don't have enough goodies to help that competition

along in the proper fashion.

Not a technical answer, so perhaps a useless one, but I'd go with your (and

her) instincts as well. I'd even go so far as to say that with your

knowledge and expertise, you qualify as strict supervision for her. :)

Ideas are funny that way ... you go and let one loose, and suddenly it's

crashing about the place, bashing up against other peoples' heads.

Somebody oughtta control that. Pesky things, ideas.

Hi Christie:

How old is your dog?

How are you counterbalancing the effects of this chemotherapy? Any

homeopathy? Have you ever thought about Alkyrol?

Do you know how and why the cancer developed? Any emotional source?

When I had a dog, I fed him mostly on raw meat and bones, never

dairy. He was fine.

For some personal reasons, however, I had to give him to another

person. He was about 12 when he left our house three years ago. I

told the new " owner " what the dog usually ate and advised that the

diet should be more or less strict. But this man didn't follow my

advice and before one year the dog was dead. I feel a pang saying

this. Maybe the dog missed us, though in general he was a very easy-

going dog and took to everyone. But certainly the wrong diet

(packaged food) had a role in making him die so quickly.

I hope your dog can recover.

I'm on top of this.

It's a known genetic disorder in my breed, caused by a recessive gene.

I completely and utterly reject the idea that emotions cause cancer.

That's nice. I've been feeding raw meat and bones to my dogs and cats for

over 19 years. Most of them are fine, sometimes bad things happen to

holistic dogs. Life is just funny that way.

Christie,

Do you feed raw eggs? Got a story from this last week I'll call the miracle

of raw egg. Our 15 yr. old springer/lab mix came up with total inability to

get his hind legs to get himself up about 4 days ago. Has never been lame

except few mornings last winter. Was his first winter inside every night.

Farm dog that disliked in the house. Has been in 90's since then. He's not a

raw dog but he is more carniverous than our mastiff. Wouldn't eat his dog

food but did eat leftover pork chop. Other than that I was trying to keep

him hydrated adding Concentrace mineral drops to his water. Next day he

barely had energy to lift his head and hadn't eliminated or urinated for 2

days. Was thinking what other protein can I give him? Gave him 4 raw eggs

from neighbor's free range chickens. Ten minutes later he pulls himself up,

stands there proudly a second and walks about 5 feet to the other side of

the walkway and takes a small, constipated dump, tries to urinate without

lifting leg but doesn't. Fed him 3 more raw eggs 2 more times that day. That

night he went profusely with both. He still has a little trouble getting up,

can make it up and down back steps but not up wider distanced front steps.

Glad you enjoyed it, Kris! Tank must have known you wrote as he just walked

in here, which he rarely does. He's getting better everyday. Came into

kitchen after supper, his usual last night. Daughter let him out this

morning, did something quick inside and he wandered out to the back pasture

and made it up the steeper front stairs with encourgement after.
