Sure, one day GMOs might be extremely beneficial (although the thought of seriously modified plants and animals continues to bother me), but why rush into it until we know all the facts? Formic acid is bad stuff, it's the same stuff that's in the poison of certain ants ( " formica " is Latin for ant). Dictionary describes it as a " colorless pungent fuming vesicatory liquid acid " . It, and other aldehydes, are common fermentation byproducts, so you probably get some in your blood just from digesting food.
