Have book titled Carrots love Tomatoes. Believe there are more by author. Is mostly vegetables, herbs and some flowers that benefit each other together. Might try a google search on companion planting trees. Wanita

Hi, Pratick, I'm just getting into this stuff too and this is what has helped me so far: http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/ This site is loaded with good info. Go to the organic gardening section ( http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/organic/) and search. The FAQs in this section (top of the page link) are full of some really good info. There is so much info on this site that you might find time goes by very quickly while you are there... Also, here's a book that's pretty good: *Gaia's Garden* by Toby Hemenway. I'm sure there are others out there that are just as good, if not better. Read the reviews on Amazon.com <http://Amazon.com> My $0.02. Guest guest
I took Organic Gardening magazine, and it was somewhat helpful. But their parent publisher, Rodale Press, does have a lot of books out there that focus on natural gardening techniques. When I started our small, backyard garden about 4 years ago, I used info from " The Best of Organic Gardening, " edited by Mike McGrath, and put out by Rodale. It covers the basics of organic home gardening. (soil improvement, fertilizers, pest control, seed starting, flowers, etc.) We're getting ready to move, but when we get settled in our new place, I plan to not only focus on organic techniques, but more on biodynamic techniques as well. I think the key is soil management techniques, like enriching the soil with beneficial microorganisms, and re-mineralizing it as well. Good luck! Rebekah Organic Gardening Resources Greetings, Does anyone have any good links, websites, books, etc. for organic gardening. Not just for vegetable gardening, but general (flowers, trees, bushes, shrubs, etc.) I am also looking for plant/tree combinations that benefit each other (like having tree 1 next to tree 2 will help both grow better). Lastly, I am looking for organic and non chemical ways to keep insects, mosquitos and other bugs away from the garden. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Pratick __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Someone else recommended 2 books by Ellen Sandbeck: Slug Bread and Beheaded Thistles (Housekeeping and Gardening) Eat More Dirt (Diverting and Instructive Tips for Grwoing and Tending an Organic Garden) I bought them on recommendation from someone on one of these groups. I haven't had a chance to look at them. I also have a book by Birds & Blooms Books/Reiman Publications called " 1,112 Down-to-Earth Garden Secrets " which is a collection of tips from gardeners all over the U.S. ISBN: 0-89821-233-2 I haven't read much of this one either. I have the books, I'm just not much of a gardener (to say the least! I'm just starting to try some culinary herbs in containers)
