Guest guest
Hi, as a number of you have noticed, the reopening of the Rife Forum is taking longer than I thought. This is mainly due to the complexity of the task that I had underestimated. I have been investing a large number of hours every day on getting this all running. I am now almost there and I promise you the wait will be worthwhile. I have opened the forum to a few beta testers and I have been receiving very positive feedback so far. The capabilities of the new Rife Forum go much further than the old one (and miles ahead of a Yahoogroup). I could do with a few more beta testers to just go through the forum and check for any inconsistances. Send me an Email if you are interested. As with any new project, there are also unforseen technical problems to fix as well. I have just run into a new one where some advanced features of the forum require specific features from the web hoster (cURL support). Unfortunately, the current webhoster (Strato, Germany) is refusing to offer that feature so I will have to move the entire forum to the root server that I currently use to host the www.grayfieldoptical.com website and the online videos. Transfering the forum and domain will take a few more days, I should then be able to finally open the forum. The other server does have the advantage of more webspace and download capacity, although it will also require more work on my side to maintain the system. During the domain transfer, the Rife Forum will go offline for a few hours. This is normal and part of the process. Other problems I encountered were in porting the approx. 16000 messages from this Rife Group to the new forum. The test import worked reasonably well, however about 3000 messages got lost in the transfer and the import procedure will therefore need to be refined further. It was also decided to try to sort those messages automatically into catagories using key words. Software to do this needs to be written. Therefore, those messages will be added at a later date (Feb. 2006) when the conversion process works better. The Forum will therefore initially open without the imported messages from this Rife Yahoogroup Up-to-date information on my progress can be found at http://www.rifeforum.com Regards Moderator
