Guest guest
Yes, we need to work with the folks that develop policy in TX but all I hear is complaints without solutions. Folks that develop policy in TX want solutions from us not more problems. It is so funny because we complain that the TEA and our legislators are not listening to us, do we all not understand why? Jeepers... We have spent so much time debating pure speculation. Someone even quoted a dollar figure for the scholarship... Oh for Pete's sakes. I am sure the TEA just smiles when they get wind that the autism community wants to change something, because all they have to do is sit back and watch us beat each other up. How easy for them - no change. We also loose favor in our legislators too. But then we turn around and blame them, ironic. We have a low incident disability. Only 16,000 kids and all I hear in Austin is good-luck getting folks to help, with those low numbers... But now we actually have the ear of a legislator who by the way is not some nit wit, and we want to spend more time developing problems - all on speculation - rather than solving problems. I understand that there are ideologies at odds here too. We all can't see eye to eye on everything. Thats OK, because that is what makes us work harder, compromise and develop far reaching solutions. But we should always have the goal of developing solutions not problems in mind. Looking forward to 2007- Liz tscillian@...
Guest guest
We do not all see eye to eye on the issues but for the sake of the future of other children that are diagnoised with autism, we need to make a stand together so that maybe one day the young children can receive the intervention that they need. We can make a difference if we work in unison. Their will never be a peaceful solution if we keep bickering among ourselves. This is not about your child or my child, this is about future generations to come. We all need to put self aside and evaluate what is best for the autism population and pray to our God or Gods to help us to come together. Re: Vouchers, rural areas, and the issue...
