Hi Gordon:

Your 95W and SWR 1:1 lacks the rest of the info.

What I mean is how you arrive to it?

Lamp type, length, gas mixture, amp output transistors, tuner data, etc.

It will be nice to see them...

Horacio,

Very few people are interested in tech details hence the sober message.

In this group are 1944 members and you are the only one to inquire.

The tube; 100% Neon at 7 Torr = 9.3 mbar, diameter 3/4 inch,

length 12 " electrodes 2 x 250 mA (more mass= more electrons).

Amplifier Midland 747B VM, transistors Motorola 2x mrf 255, driver CB

modified Cobra Ultra, function generator, Voltcraft 6MHz sweep generator

Power supply MFJ switching PS 20A

In the USA the VM (variable modulator) amps are readily available.

To set up any new system I always prefer the VM type amp to determine what

power the tube demands.

Hi,

You may count on me as another group member having a technical interest – in

fact more technical than medical!

Your set-up looks very similar to a couple I have made – a Rife-Bare

system, using a custom made 12 or 18 inch tube 20mm in diameter, either

Argon-Neon mix, Argon alone or Neon alone at 7Torr; modified Uniden CB, 150

or 300watt linear amp, ATU, output via Balun, etc etc. SWRs low at 1:1.25

(about) I have found that the power output of the system is very dependent

on the actual input voltage used –the watts output power seems to increase

non-linearly over an increase form 12 – 14 volts – it shouldn’t but it sure

measures so. So your power source must be able to handle the necessary

current easily. My experience is that if your power output transistors have

gone phut, then output is pathetic!

Hope this helps,

Andy
