Guest guest
Is frozen raw milk still beneficial, or as beneficial, as fresh or not? Freezing Milk Although we do not recommend freezing milk products, for some it is a necessity. Milk may be frozen for as long as 3 months provided the sealed container is frozen prior to the best before date. Skim and 2% milk freeze better than Homo milk (whole milk). Thaw frozen milk in the refrigerator. The milk will still have the same nutrients, but it may separate. If it does, shake well or beat with an electric mixer or rotary beater. http://www.dairyland-ca.com/storing.htm Can pasteurised milk be frozen for a few weeks before use in the home? It should be safe to freeze milk, providing you do the following things: freeze it before the 'Use by' date follow any freezing or thawing instructions on the label defrost it in the fridge so that it doesn't get too warm - allow about 24 hours for it to thaw try to use the milk within a few days of defrosting - it will go off in the same way as ordinary pasteurised milk When milk is frozen it expands and this can rupture the packaging. Check that the packaging is intact before you defrost it. If it has ruptured it's better not to use the milk. Remember, freezing might affect the quality of the milk. What is the maximum length of time that milk used to make frothy coffee can be kept for use? The milk is kept at a temperature of approximately 71°C. If milk is being kept at 71°C, there is not a legal limit for how long you can keep it. This temperature is too high for food poisoning bacteria to grow and multiply, so there is not a safety reason for limiting the time the milk is kept at this temperature. However, keeping the milk hot for a long time might affect its quality. You should be careful to check the temperature of the milk regularly. If it drops below 63°C, there is a risk of bacteria growing. Once it drops below this temperature you must keep the milk for no more than two hours, according to the temperature control regulations. http://ckatirmg.hypermart.net/Eat_Safely.htm I am wondering about meat.
