Help! Cold sores on sons upper lip--Viral????

Hi,

I'm new here and to all this. I have a 10 year old son who's on the

spectrum. Every time I give him vitamin C he gets a runny nose.

Recently I gave it to him again (the fourth time in a year and a half)

and again he got a runny nose but this time I didn't stop giving it to

him and he got a head cold (never gets more than a runny nose ever)and

now he's got these horrible looking cold sores on his lip (and nose,

which really yuks me out!)

I stopped the vit. C (was told maybe the runny nose is due to an

allergy to the corn in the C)and now we're working on getting rid of

these nasty things.

Could this be him releasing a virus? How do I test for viruses?? I

want to heal him so badly.
