Guest guest
Hello all, I am hoping that some one here could help me find a site that could explain, how darviset, and coumivin (?spelling?) interact. My cousin called me on her way to work and asked if I could find out for her. But I have never had to look some thing like this up before and nether she or I know the exact spelling so that made it harder too. There are some questions about my grandmother's death, and no they are not NT eaters. When my daughters and I went to SC for the funeral, my girls looked in my aunt's pantry in hopes of finding something to eat. My 16 year old, said for all that the pantry is packed there is nothing to eat. It was all boxes and cans. Granny lived with my aunt. So on top of a nasty diet, she was on blood thinners. And my cousin found out that she would also that darvisit. She lived closer to granny and saw a lot more of her then I did, and her death really up sets my cousin. And her dad is all so on coumivin, and takes darvisit, so that has her scared. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks krickett
Guest guest
I am hoping that some one here could help me find a site that could explain, how darviset, and coumivin (?spelling?) interact. I take coumadin as well. I will have to take it the rest of my life for blood clots :-( Not only may there be medicinal interactions but there are also foods that interfere with coumadin- they should have gave them a list---they do not cause a reaction but change the PT results- the blood clots too fast or too slow. You can eat them but not a lot of them (liver, broccoli, brussel sprouts, spinach, swiss chard, collard greens, cabbage, lettuce, asparagus etc) (garlic, ginger, ginko) (don't take coumadin within an hour of ingesting grapefruit) also check before taking over the counter meds, herbs and vitamins alcohol can increase the effects of coumadin It is VERY important for them to keep up with their bloodwork (PT)--usually monthly Make sure ALL of your dr's & dentists know that you are taking coumadin! IF you are given a prescription that coumadin may react with---DON'T PANIC-- sometimes it is the best option and that is why it is very important that you get your PT done monthly or according to dr's instructions. Sometimes it may be a longer or shorter time period. Usually, they are concerned about the PT results. So if you are taking a certain drug they may have you come in more often to make sure the PT is within their limit and if it isn't they may take you off of that med and try another and/or adjust the coumadin doseage. IF you are concerned about how coumadin will react with another med ASK the dr when he prescribes it and always remind them that you are taking coumadin--most likely they haven't forgot but it will make you feel better. Coumadin & Darvocet interaction What is darvocet? acetaminophen(a less potent pain reliever that increases the effects of propoxyphene) and propoxyphene(related to codeine) Coumadin info --including interactions http://www.accessmednet.com/prescription-drug-information/coumadin-warfarin.html http://www.cc.nih.gov/ccc/patient_education/drug_nutrient/coumadin1.pdf#search='\ coumadin%20and%20food%20interactions' If you would like to contact me, feel free lilgrngeo@...
