Marilyn,

It's really amazing the flavors that a person can come up with when

you make your own kefir. It just requires the kefir grains and

milk. So it's not as expensive as the store bought stuff. A dribble

of vanilla, sweetener of your choice along with the kefir in your

blender and you've got the same stuff the store sells for big bucks.

From there you can experiment with fruits added. Strawberries would

be a good start. Kinda' like strawberry milkshake with a little

tartness to it. I'm sure that you'll learn to like it. Even my

hubby likes it now, and he's not into sour or tart.

Is it the Helios brand? We have that too :) and it's sooooo yummy.

I'd never tried keifir, and so I bought that from our health food

store, and my 2yo LOVES it, he goes crazy for it and would drink the

whole container if I let him! Now, I'm brave enough to try making

my own. I'm going to try a goat milk batch and a coconut milk batch.

Marilyn,

Yes, if you like that, you can make kefir you will like too. It can be cultured

to be more sour or less sour, you just have to find the timing etc. that works

best for you. If that fails, you can always add sweetener or fruit etc.

Carol--I wasn't sure sweetner was " legal " . But for now, for lack of time, I

will continue to buy the kefir. I have a muffin recipe that's been on my fridge

for a couple of weeks now, waiting to get made. I'm not holding my breath

about making anything else right now! Maybe after the holidays. Marilyn
