metabolic fever

Hi all,

Here’s a weird one for ya. Last night and last Friday night I woke up about 3:00am with fever like symptoms. Chills, aches and pains, heart racing and I was VERY hot. I got up and cursed the flu bug and all it ancestors and took two Advil and munched on a protein bar so the Advil wouldn’t rip up my stomach. It lasted for less than 6hrs and had no other symptoms besides a fever. If it was the flu it perplexed me. I shrug it off and skipped my cardio that next day and started back the day after without skipping a beat and felt pretty strong.

Well last night it happened again… this time wasn’t as bad but I knew it was the same thing. I got up and had a piece of WW bread and 2cups of water. The symptoms subsided and fell back asleep. I woke up and there it was again. So this time I fired up the blender and had a Myoplex lite. The symptoms slowly went away and I feel fine.

To me it sounds like my body is running out of food and goes into some metabolic temper tantrum.

I do have a sizeable protein meal/shake before bed. The one last night didn’t have many carbs in it though…. I was kind of low on fruit being it’s the end of the week.

So has anyone else ever felt this?
