Guest guest
Since parents currently have no reasonable education options in our state, what advice would folks on this list give to the parent of a Kindergartner who has been denied proper placement and, after 3 months of school, is talking about killing himself to his parents? " Stick with it! " ? " Pull him out of school! " ? " Call an emergency ARD! " take more time off work and risk losing job the puts food on the table? Scholarships give us a whole lot of options. They certainly don't make IDEA go away. It's clear from reading this list who has done their homework and who hasn't. This is happening in Ohio. It has bi-partisan support. It's a tremendous success. It's keeping families from having to file bankruptcy. The money follows the child, so if a family decides they need to use a scholarship, it doesn't impact anyone but that family and that child. Here's a link to Ohio's program for anyone interested in facts: http://www.ode.state.oh.us/GD/Templates/Pages/ODE/ODEDetail.aspx?Page=3 & TopicRel\ ationID=972 & Content=21238 Gianadda ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL.
