I'll take your 980 and raise ya 20 more. LOL New goal: 1000 lbs! Second night back at the gym and even though we did back and tri's ( I know wierd combo, but hey, I did 140 lbs tricep push downs for 6!), I decided to see how strong the legs were. I did the whole stack, 395, on the life fitness machine. I was amazed that I can still do 215 lbs isolated leg presses. Next lifting day is legs. This should be fun. DH and I are doing a 6 week cycle for strength gains. We are six months out for comps and he's going to kick my butt into gear! Cleaned out the holiday goodies and put them in the freezer for free days. Stocked up on " clean food " and making the menus for next week. I've got a plan and I'm sticking to it. LOL MP PS: how's the family?
Guest guest
That has to be a single pulley with a chain assit! > > > I can almost match ya on those push downs. Guest guest
> ok ok Ms. 140 and 130...is that with the single pulley or double pulley??? > (double pulley has pulley attached to the weight stack, and travels up with it) Ms. 140 here, that would be one pulley, thank you. > 1000 lbs of weight, or actual force? I'll shoot for the weight first. I can handle 18 plates total (so far), but give me a few weeks to increase that. I still want to work out with you. I want to " hurl " . Yes, it's a single pulley. The machine is from MaxCam. We also have cross over machine, double pulley, but I conquered that stack a while a go. LOL Off to the gym for legs. Guest guest
>Just for kicks and giggles, try 60-70 lbs at the lat pulldown station (single >pulley) to compare. I will try that! I will instantly feel like a big wussy
Guest guest
Wow, color me impressed! > > How much weight do you do on nosebusters??? > > Skull crushers? 75 lbs Hmmm. That would have been my guess. Impressive weight, more consistent with the " double pulley " theory...but everyone's a little different. I just added up what I do, zigzag bar (25lbs) plates, dimes and nickels = 145 (25+90+20+10) with which I get 8-12 reps. In my experience, nosebuster/skullcrusher weight corrosponds closely with pressdown weight, but there is always an exception I guess. I look forward to working out with you. > I do want more upper body strength. Since the shoulder injury, I've > lost a lot of strength. I'd like to get it back. How much is more? How much have you lost? You were doing more than 140 lbs on pressdowns? > Yes, it's a single pulley. The machine is from MaxCam. If I feel the continent dip in that direction I'll know why. Brett
