Guest guest
I was wondering if someone could tell me how the HCS slots are distributed. My MHMR case worker cannot explain this to me. Do they go down the state list in numerical order? Do they give so many slots to different MHMR Districts. Every year we get more counties in our Lakes Regional MHMR District, but My kids do not seem to be moving up very fast. Zach is number 200 and his Mom is 249 and I do not know if that means statewide or MHMR and if they have to go down in numerical order or get to pick and choose. Can anyone shed any light on this? I keep asking their caseworker, but no answers. Granny Gail
Guest guest
The HCS List and there slots are administered by the State (DADS). You sign up at your MRA and the State then notifies the MRA of your slot as it becomes available. That said the State determines slots by who has been waiting the longest " In the State " therefore not all counties(MRA'S) get a set number, nor can you tell when one is coming up. Hope this helps if not you can write me privately and I will try to answer the question specific to you. Guest guest
I appreciate your explanation of how HCS slots are disbursed. Can anyone explain, then, why I know at least one family who was barely on the waiting list when a slot opened up for them? Isn’t it sometimes based on need, rather than strictly waiting list order? Any comments? A. Weber
Guest guest
I appreciate so much all of the effort and all of the good advice and feed back on this webesite. However, the one problem I am having is all the acronyns that are used in dialog. It would be very helpful to many of us if acronyns were spelled out. I have heard of HCS in other posts, but have no idea what it is or what it refers to. Thanks so all of you for giving support and advice - it is appreciated.
