Hello ....

I am in KISD also. Is your son receiving speech and OT services now while in

PPCD? He should be. Also, the OT can address the sensory issues with his OT,

but it most likely would require increased OT time.

Please feel to email me off list.... kkinkaty@...

Thanks!

KK

OT and Speech Therapy in KISD

We have a three year old son diagnosed with Autism in September of this

year. He is currently enrolled in PPCD classes in Katy. We have

scheduled an ARD in January for an increase in speech and OT services.

Has anyone in KISD been successful in recieving individual speech

therapy or OT services? If so, how did you approach the ARD committee

to recieve approval for these services? We also have concerns with

sensory integration. Are services available to address these issues?

Any information to assist us in helping our son recieve these services

would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Masha

Katy ISD has an ECAP or Early Childhood Autism Program, did you know that? The

school district is not always honest with parents that this program even exists-

has this been an option for discusion at your last ARD for placement?
