Guest guest
: When you have bowel dysbiosis, any food could conceivably cause flatulence because many bacteria and yeasts naturally produce gas, even lactobacillus, one of the probiotics. We're having great results with whey here, not alone, but as part of a program to control bowel ecology, which will improve the flatulence; it takes a range of 10 days to almost 2 months depending. We don't call it an adverse reaction but a natural process. Which whey protein powder did you try? For our purposes it must be undenatured, and many people are still learning there is a difference. Duncan > > I am seeing a lot of talk of Whey here, and I have a question. Before I treated for and knew I had candida (like a year ago), I was attempting to add more protein to my diet for hypoglycemia. I tried whey protein powder, and had the most horrible flatulence, that I stopped it. If everyone here is having such great results with whey, why would it affect me so adversely? Incidentally, I also get the same effect from magnesium, but without magnesium I'm in terrible muscle pain, so we tolerate it, unfortunately. > > Best, > > http://www.ChestnutHillDesigns.com > Blog ~ http://shellyct.blogspot.com/ > > ~One can always be kind to people about whom one cares nothing.~ > -- Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray, 1891 > > >

Guest guest
Memidas, about 95% of people tolerate undenatured whey and essentially 100% tolerate inulin. Guest guest
Well, I had some allergy testing done. It was a computerized program, where you hold this brass " ground " , and the practitioner uses this little metal probe on your finger, and it goes tdown the list of the computer and tells you waht you are allergic too. Iwas told milk proteins, strawberries, bananas, oranges, peanuts, tomatoes, and I think something else. It somehow measures the antibodies, I think? In any event, they had me taking these drops, and each time I went in for a follow up he wanted to add more things to test for (at like $400 a pop), so I gave up going because I can't afford it, and stopped the drops. I gradually added these food items back in and feel no different (i.e., no worse), so I don't really know. I do not consume a lot of milk. I've been using heavy cream in my am coffee (less milk protein, just the fat), I did have a banana/strawberry smoothie the other day and didn't feel any worse I think I may give the whey another try. Guest guest
Hi Duncan, I don't recall which product that I used, I bought it from a body-building type website (or maybe it was my health food store, sorry, I don't recall). In any event, this is what I'm doing so far for my candida: In October, I took Diflucan for 2 weeks, until I started getting a side effect (clay colored stools), so I stopped that and switched to Nystatin, which I took for, hmmmm, about a month, I think. All this time I was on the candida diet, basically meat and veggies. After I finished the nystatin, I took oregano oil for acouple of months, and nanosilver. The oregano oil was really bothering my stomach, so I started taking Monolaurin and Olive Leaf Extract. I've been taking Alpha Lipoic acid as part of another supplement regimen I'm on for low thyroid, low estrogen and low adrenal function. (If it helps at all, what I'm taking for that is B5, Fibrozyme, ALA, Super Gram III, Jiaogulan tea, guafinisen, DIM, Magnesium chelate, Selenium, A & D, E, a " super " multi, herbal blend called " Adrenal Health from Gaia Herbs (contains rhodiola, ashwagandha, schizandra berry, wild milky seed oats, holy basil ETQH, and Holy Basil SCE), I think there's more but I can't remember offhand. Oh, B12 sublingual, and probably more, sure seems like more pills. Most recently I started FiveLac, just 1 packet day so far. I don't believe I'm having any more candida symptoms. My toenails are growing out nicely, the horrific oozing pustules on my feet (that I had for 5+ years and NO doctor had a clue what it was) was gone within a week of being in Diflucan, and has not returned. Most of my brain fog is gone, except when I get tired. My only residual symptoms seem to be the fatigue, muscle aches, and headaches/tight neck/shoulders/upper back mostly when the barometer drops and a storm is moving through. I don't think these are candida related. I have slowly since Christmas started adding back in some regular foods including bread, and some sweets (I've always liked my sweets, I know I shouldn't, but ......) I did have to go on antibiotics the first week of January when I had a bad respiratory infection, I started feeling candida creep back so immediately went back on Diflucan for a week, and continued the other herbal regimen. In any event, I want to make sure that it doesn't come back, which is why I think I should probably stay on something for a good long time. If anything here jumps out at anybody, please let me know. Oh, for rx's, I'm on 3 grains Armour, 20 mg. Cortef (split dosage, I'm in the process of weaning down if life remains stable for awhile), and using an Estriol cream. Guest guest
Olivia, whey is not an allergenic component of milk; in fact " well tolerated by severely milk-sensitive individuals " reads the listing of a whey isolate called Immunocal, in the PDR for prescription drugs. Obviously, it's important to distinguish between components in this case.Beta-lactoglobulin in whey is known to cause some allergic response in susceptable individuals, but reactions are pretty rare. If the reaction amounts to indigestion, then the risk:benefit ratio still heavily favours benefit. Guest guest
if you have heavy metals in your system, whey won't work until you chelate them out. And your symptoms sound very simlar to mine. Guest guest
, at best I think a Vega testing unit is a novelty item; at worst, unreliable at the very time you need reliability. What the machine measures is resistance to electrical current on the skin, not antibodies; electrical conductivity varies with mood etc and it's why the same principle is used in lie detectors and biofeedback devices. Guest guest
, what jumps out at me is the clay-colored stools, which might point to bile blockage; have you done liver flushes? I ask because your toxin load is still high, as seen by the thyroid suppression. Also, it's better to use the ALA on and off than constantly on if you're using fairly high doses. Because you're still toxic, you probably still have dysbiosis and adding the bread back in is probably not a good call -- but you mentioned that Duncan > > Hi Duncan, I don't recall which product that I used, I bought it from a > body-building type website (or maybe it was my health food store, sorry, I > don't recall). > > In any event, this is what I'm doing so far for my candida: > > In October, I took Diflucan for 2 weeks, until I started getting a side > effect (clay colored stools), so I stopped that and switched to Nystatin, > which I took for, hmmmm, about a month, I think. Guest guest
Yes, I have done liver flushes (well, one so far, and you're right I do need to do another, but they are so gross I really need to psych myself up for it). In any event, the clay colored stool did stop after I stopped the Diflucan. So you feel if toxins are cleared out, thyroid will begin working properly again? Do you have a specific detox program? I mentioned all the things I'm taking, another thing I'm supposed to do is far infrared saunas. Need to make time in the day to do that...... But then again, since I'm taking Armour Thyroid and suppressing my TSH anyhow, how would I know if it started working again? BTW -- both my kids are testing with low thyroid function, my 10 year old is on 1.5 grains Armour, my son is on 30 mg. Daughter has some mucin buildup, sugar cravings (has never had antibiotics, breastfed infant until 2 years old, no vaccinations since 18 months), son is more the anorexic type (ditto the sugar cravings, no antibiotics, bf, and no vaccinations at all). neither have any mercury fillings either (no fillings, as a matter of fact). Guest guest
, if you ever have problems like you and I with digestion etc...etc..., you can never again eat bread. It is a fact that I had to accept a long time ago before I ever knew I had candida. The only kind of bread that is more easily disgested would be Ezekiel bread or some of the flaxseed and millet types. I have turned to eating low carb. sesemee rye crackers instead. Store bread, white bread and even 12 grain breads are horrendously bad for your digestion and will always nicely feed yeast. I will never again for the rest of my life, no matter HOW WELL I get, will I ever again eat bread, beef, pork or sugars of any kind. Guest guest
Well that is interesting because whey is supposed to get rid of heavy metals. And as for as chelating them out, what way would you propose to do that? Ill never do DMPS or DMSA. I have been doing far infrared sauna and my arsenic levels went from the 99th percentile to the 2.5 percentile. Pretty impressive. There are many other toxins other than heavy metals. Do you eat any of the foods in the following list on a daily basis, and if so, how much and how do you prepare them? -- Onions and garlic -- Brassicas: mustard, sauerkraut, cabbage, swedes, turnips, kohlrabi, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, broccoli, kale, collard greens, rutabaga, bok choy -- Other crucifers: radish, arugula, horseradish, wasabi, watercress -- Crucifer sprouts: sprouts of any of the above listed vegetables -- millet -- cassava -- bamboo shoots, sweet potatoes, lima beans Chris -- It is the day of Resurrection; let us be radiant for the festival, and let us embrace one another. Let us say, brethren, even to those who hate us: let us forgive all things on the Resurrection, and so let us cry: Christ is risen from the dead; by death trampling down death, and to those in the tombs bestowing life. Guest guest
No, none of those on a daily basis. I do cook with Garlic and Onions. Onions probably 3x/week, garlic maybe 1 time week tops. Broccoli 2 x/week approx. and cabbage once a year, for St. Paddy's day, lol.
