Guest guest
study what he says carefully & respond point by point, making sure all your ducks are in a neat row. scepticism is good, but often is taken too far with arrogant closed minds. quackwatch is certainly not infallible, but points made there are always worth serious consideration on your path of learning....they're either right or wrong, or in some error of thinking or presentation. the quackwatch page on colloidal silver is easy to dismiss because they have nothing significant to say for one thing. it's always a very good idea to " consider the source " but also do not deny truth or genuine value or potential no matter if it comes directly from the devil itself. Rife most probably had errors in his understanding of what was doing what in accounting for his successes and failures. there's much that can never be known or dismissed about his work. it would be good if the often reproduced Rife Story was investigated thoroughly for facts, ommisions, etc. and whatever currently existing proof of it's parts well presented & preserved. don't yourself present as definite fact anything you haven't the means to prove. the status quo re-writes history to clean itself regularly, as do many individuals. current machines either work effectively for people or they don't. the placebo effect & marketing strategies together probably aren't enough to keep the high-end manufacturers in business. the mechanisms of how they work upon the body is still largely speculation, it's true. just don't waste too much time battling with boneheads unless it helps you to learn in your own quest for knowledge and ability to determine the truth and find the solutions you need. the bottom line is always results. sceptics are annoying but valuable to have around. if you can't shoot them down you simply don't have your stuff together or they're right. cheers, bobL myspace: http://www.myspace.com/bob021147 ebay: http://stores.ebay.com/bobLs-fine-flotsam homepage: http://www.toad.net/~blarson/ > Fw: [bCT] Alternative Medicine is dangerous > > > Hi, > > How do I handle people like this? Guest guest
Lets start with some of the gross error in thought. Being one of those that are in the " crazy half " and still believe in God vs evolution, I would simply like to state that all structures whether " scientifically based " such as evolution, or emotionally based such as atheism are exactly that, A BELIEF STRUCTURE that is not totally supported by facts, contrary to popular (?) opinion. The facts are incomplete and still require a large leap of faith to make sense of the whole picture. Thanks, all the same I will stay with my own beliefs. As to RIFE technology. Now most equipment out there does not have too much hard scientific documentation to prove that it works, but not all. Resonant Light Technology had enough documentation on the PERL to gain it Canadian government approval for TENS usage. Oops? All the naysayers that state that rife has absolutely no documented value for anything have a really hard time with that gem. Is this just a momentary flight of fancy or a lapse of common sense on the part of Health Canada, or is there really some merit? Like most things in alternative medicine, controlled studies have not been done and consequently the multiplicity of variables not accounted for which in turn leaves skeptical room for doubt. But the tens of thousands who have demonstrably shown benefit cannot all be suffering from halucinations or mass hysteria. Nor are they all lying. So, how do you account for them if they are not all liars, what then are they? My God's not dead, sorry about yours. Guest guest
Group, and : EMEM and Bare-Rife devices work in many cases, and I'd put either of them up against cases of the flu - overnight recovery dozens of times. Against cell cultures: I have not seen them do anything much to date, suggesting that what plasma lamp emissions do is to stimulate the body's immune system. Since the " skeptics " community is so convinced that nothing but allopathic medicine works (along with the many pharmaceutical products which now are known to cause cancer, heart disease, etc,) it would seem that they would be interested in supporting factual scientific tests of Plasma Lamp effects. Do I hear any takers? Why do plasma lamp exposures of 880 hertz cause someone who is a bit under the weather to go to sleep - often almost instantly, while the same person when feeling good has no effect from said exposure? The Skeptics Society is a bit too bound to so-called " scientific " evidence for me. An open mind has no place in their closed society; I dropped out years ago. Most health care plans now cover chiropractic, acupuncture and numerous other treatment methods which were considered quackery just 20 years ago. A look at the Complimentary and Alternative Health Centers at some modern and well-known Medical Centers finds treatments " known " to be outlandish and ineffective " quackery " not many years ago. All too often we are blinded by the " facts " without any real evidence as to the truth. How many times has some expert proclaimed things which later proved to be misleading if not false? How many medical studies later prove to be biased by some researcher getting paid under the table by the manufacturer? One of the researchers who discovered that damaged chromosomes promoted some forms of breast cancer made the statement " Show me the DATA. " How often have these " Experts " actually looked at the data before making their pronouncements? - yes indeed there are Quacks, and indeed some of them are promoting " Rife " devices. And of course there is the problem with many promoters claiming they have a " Rife " device when sometimes the only connection to Rife's work is a thought or two in their minds. The promise of a fast buck finds buyers and sellers in many fields. You might research the work of Milbank , MD, in the Rife era. Highly conservative and well connected politically in the Los Angeles of the early 1900's, he thought that Rife plasma lamps did indeed have something going for them. Do your own research, rather than listening to the claims of many about the " Rife Story " , and you may find you've already been snookered by listening to those who promote a Rife history which only partially happened. Wikipedia has some of the same problems. Dave Felt http://www.dfe.net " One who has seen Plasma Lamps work too many times to be coincidence. " Josh wrote: > Hi, > > How do I handle people like this? Guest guest
Just remember for centuries the earth was flat and the sun revolved around the earth Terry _____ From: Rife [mailto:Rife ] On Behalf Of Dave Sent: Saturday, December 16, 2006 8:08 PM To: Rife Subject: Re: Fw: [bCT] Alternative Medicine is dangerous Group, and : EMEM and Bare-Rife devices work in many cases, and I'd put either of them up against cases of the flu - overnight recovery dozens of times. Dave Felt http://www.dfe. <http://www.dfe.net> net " One who has seen Plasma Lamps work too many times to be coincidence. Guest guest
probably not, and to try hard enough to get their & the publics attention would only help them. theoretically, there's nothing wrong with their purpose and empirical bonehead sceptics will have a place to express themselves. also, the numbers ($ and people) are probably on their side...although the times they are a changin. you can blow them away by exposing them as deficient and dangerous in what they do by imposing compelling truths in stong light. that will take resources an individual doesn't have unless there's big power resources behind him/her. you'd have to pick apart everything they say, have the proof, make the presentation, & be prepared for possibly some very dirty tricks, so no vulnerabilities on our side that can be exploited. cheers, bobL myspace: http://www.myspace.com/bob021147 ebay: http://stores.ebay.com/bobLs-fine-flotsam homepage: http://www.toad.net/~blarson/ > Re: Fw: [bCT] Alternative Medicine is dangerous > > > is there a way that I could get quackwatch shut down somehow? > > Josh > > Re: Fw: [bCT] Alternative Medicine is dangerous > > To Quon, > So you checked out quack watch.Read what they have to say about Rife on > wikpedia.SO WHAT!!! Guest guest
Josh, the QW group seems to be very (VERY) ready to file lawsuits whenever they find something they don't like. In California, according to Tim Bolen, the QW group has been losing cases regularily, and have now even been thrown out of court in cases where they showed up as " expert " witnesses. Gasp, some judge had the gall to allow a defense attorney to challenge the " expert " witness, and found they weren't so " expert " after all. Even so, a lawsuit has to be prepared for and defended, else one loses. Guest guest
I know that microwaves are dangerous. But what about those other devices like the flavor wave? The commercial claimed a while back that you can fry and bake and do all that stuff with it. Also, are gas stoves better than electric stoves? I myself like gas stoves better because you can hear how high the flame is so you can tell by sound how high the stove is turned up. Plus electric stoves take too long to heat up in my opinion.
