Guest guest
Yes, she is the same who dragged my little girl out of the car. She is the same who threatened to " come across the table and slap " me during and ARD. She was the Special Ed Dir here for almost 20 years. She is in her mid 40's. She is divorced and has one child- a girl now in middle school. She is white, but speaks Spanish. Her parents have been missionaries in Spain for many years. She talks with a Twang. I was told that she was working in the Special Services group as a " Floater " for right now. She will probably be in Cy-Woods from what I was told. She has one year teaching and the rest as dictator. She only did ARDS for 2 kids with Autism- none with Downs. She has never done assessments. All she knows to do is to be the boss and be aggressive. I have paper work and pictures to back up anything I've said about her. If you need more information just email me from one parent to the next. Guest guest
Candis, I hope you've cross posted this warning to other groups. We MUST look out for each other, and I would absolutely hate to see any other innocents hurt by this " person " . Guest guest
>She admitted taping the mouths of a handful of students after trying several other methods to get them to work quietly. She appealed to the students to control their own behavior, marked some discipline cards and issued repeated reminders to quiet down, then she used the tape. Some parents complained saying she overstepped her authority as a teacher< This greatly concerns me as Tristan is a verbal stimmer and cannot control his noises. This is discussed in our ARD's and staffings and the agreement of the team is that it is part of his disability and can't be disciplined but to try and prompt him with visual cues to be quiet. The teacher that was finally fired after 3 years because we proved she was not teaching him or collecting the mandated data, also pinched him numerous times. It was reported to the principal and put in his file but that was the extent of it. C.
Guest guest
As a professional in the field I find this to be appaling also! I do not want people working for me or with those I serve to be abusive, degrading or beligerant. I think that the greated majority of those that serve as a teacher or (My daughter is a teacher) do not wish this. I know that any abuse that we see gets reported. I have been on this list for years and usually do not say anything but feel I must this time. I am only speaking for myself. Not for who I work for. I know many people that work in this field and it is not for the money, it is because we feel compelled yes " called " to do this. My only wish is that you do not judge all by the bad teachers and professionals. They like parents are human and we also have bad one's. I applaud you for trying to remedy my profession of these individuals who would bring harm to your (our) children. Again please do not categorize us as one or the enemy. Many of us want the same thing as you. Guest guest
Hi Buddy: I have know you for a long time. Your dedication is very evident in all the time and hard work that I have seen you give to families in Texas. I don't say this enough, but, thank you. Many of you also know my wife a from this list. She was (well--still is at home) a special ed teacher. She certainly did not choose that profession for the money. Rather, she choose to teach because she cares and wanted to make a difference in families lives by giving special kids the best education possible. I will always love and respect her for that. Buddy, I agee so much with you. Sure there will always be a bad egg in the basket but let's not define the entire basket because of the one rotten and stinky egg. My best... Guest guest
I appreciate your kind words. Thank you all very much. I hope those of you who will come in contact will be very cautious and not allow her to do things. Look for unexplained bruises, for the child to be unwilling to go to school, etc. There are good teachers, my grandmother was a teacher. There are good people in schools. As the consumers, we have to stand up. It's not easy for other teachers, because they have their job at stake. Whistleblowers 'smell bad' and no one wants to hire them. Let's move on to the next subject; however if anyone needs her name, etc just email me. Candis
