Guest guest
Ellen, Do you have kefir grains? Use them instead of the whey as a culture. I've made apple cider with grains--wonderful. When I made it with whey I threw it out. And I was upset to have wasted my money and time juicing those apples. The timing is trickier with the whey, or something. Have only made grape cooler using grains and it's so good. Sorry about your mold. B. On Thu, 18 Nov 2004 14:53:54 -0000, eshearer_99 <ellen@...> wrote: > > > Has anyone tried the grape cooler. Guest guest
Haven't tried it this way cuz' with grains it is so easy and tasty. I understand that the grains will " poop out " after a while but mine haven't yet. I mix up the grape juice with a little water and a spoonful or two of sugar (optional but fizzier with it) and add a few grains. Seal and let sit on the counter for 12-24 hours then enjoy! When I'm down to the last inch or so, I just add more juice, etc. It is so delicious I told my hubby that I'm not giving away any more of our concords--all the juice will be ours. Ok, that's a little selfish but it's that good! > Has anyone tried the grape cooler. Guest guest
Oh yeah, and since it's so dry and hot here in the summer the wafting scent of the ripe grapes is intoxicating. That 20' grape vine helped lessen the loss of pomegranites and figs when we moved! Deb > Lucille, > If I had concords, I would do the same. Guest guest
I had to laugh when I first saw your name because my son is Ian! The Pinklucille is for my pink & white VW bus, Lucy ! > Oh no, another Deb. This could get confusing.
