Please help me determine if we should stay on this protocol. My son is

is 6 yrs old,50 lbs(approx)

He is getting 1000mg Imunovir and 200 mg Diflucan per day.Loads of

probiotics.Suppleme nts according to his tests. He is GFCF with enzymes

(SCD was tried but did not work out)

It's been 30 days and I can't really say I see a huge difference.Not

much die off either.Just small cold sores,rash/red skin on butt and dry

red skin on arms.

Should we continue on?And what sort of gains should I be seeing?I just

want to know if I am on the right track. We have been doing biomed for

more than 4 years with slow but steady gains. But some days I am not

sure if it just his development that brought on the gains.

Also how many of you are also treating lyme?

THANKS!!!!!!

" Just small cold sores,rash/red skin on butt and dry red skin on

arms. "

This is a good sign, my son had dry skin in the begining as well as

the rashes. Even after 7 months of valtrex we still had the

occasional rash. Some parents do not note any improvements/gains

until about 45 days. You may want to plug along another 2 weeks and

be on the lookout for any improvement in health, behavior, sensory.

How are you dosing?

Nikki I had to make the same decision as you this past summer-with valtrex. QAfter a month I saw no positive gains-in fact I was seeing only negatives-crying a lot, aggressive etc. discussed it with our DAN and she said give it another week or two longer. By day 40 I had had it--there are many on this list that say you should give it longer-and maybe i should have and maybe someday soon I will re-visit it---but in the 40 days I saw no positive things happening. If it hadn't been for his worsening behavior-I would have gone on to do 60 days to see. So I think you really have to use your gut feeling as what to do next. If you see no negatives like i did-I would give it a bit longer. hope this helps, maurineNikki Barbieri wrote: Sorry Donna I am not following what you mean?Do you think rash is from sugar?I am trying to determine if I should stay on protocol longer to see if it suits him.Not seeing alot of gains but am seeing rash.donna schmidt <familyschmidt5.sg> wrote: Is he getting sugars in his diet, fructose from anything eben the supplements, My son is a ketchup lover and that has

We are getting gains with valtrex...but we did not get them until we

cut out the starches and carbs and the only sugar in my kids' diets

at this time is raw peeled apples. They can oj and water or just

water - no other juices unless it is the spinach juice, fresh

squexxed that Stan recs. My son eats only chicken, raw peeled

apples, the spinach juice, the occasion bite or two of broccoli, and

some raw carrots. He cried all the time on valtrex until we added

GABA in with each dose. What does your dr say is creating the cold

sores....THAT tells me something is smoldering in your child. THe

diaper rash is bacterial or yeast...try lotimin on it...goes awa, its

yeast...try neosporin and it goes away, it was bacterial....the fact

that he has any kind of rash, again, says something is in him/his gut

derailing his normal development.....I would up the antifungal

strategy...we just did...from 2/day to three...and give GABA with his

antiviral...and then if all regressions and no gains...carry

on....BUT THE FACT THAT YOU ARE SEEING COLD SORES means he feels

crappy...and his body may be fighting the root cause of whatever is

making him feel so awful...we did not get gains until we cut the

sugar, complex carbs, and really sweet fruits....best of luck. Is he getting

sugars in his diet, fructose from anything eben the supplements, My

son is a ketchup lover and that has sugar, jam has sugar, non dairy

spread has sugar, need to stay away from supplements with sugar and

apple and pear juice.
