I see people at the gym pressing some seriouse weight w/ their legs.

Specificaly Squats. The problem is that I am kinda intimidated by

the heavy weights. I do not have a spotter and pressing the weights

I press now(140b+bar @ intensity 10) requires alot of focus to do it

right. I'm concerned that if I up the weights, I might risk injury

due to making a mistake or something.

To the point...

What can I do (Safely) to exercise my quads at high intensity levels?

Do I have to up the weights or should I try for more reps?

Thanks for any info.

Have you tried slowing down your cadence? Try super slow reps.

They'll make your quads burn.

Have you tried the hack squat or leg press?

I wouldn't up the weight until you feel like you are able to handle

it with good form.

Have you asked anybody to spot you? I used to feel intimidated (

don't laugh y'all and y'all know who you are!) at first, with the

weights and the people. Once I got to know some of the people at

the gym, I felt comfortable enough to ask them to spot for me.
