There's already been a movie made about the sentient gloop.

The movie is called THE STUFF, and I rented it quite a few years back.

Marilyn,

Well, it may or may not be the penicillin, but it kind of shows how complex the

situation can be. It's not always the most obvious possibility. But, now you

have more clues.

Carol

Carol--OH GOOD GRIEF!!! How could I be so stupid? About two weeks ago, I took

penicillin for a couple of days, to try and knock out a throat infection. I

NEVER take antibiotics, and I only did it for a couple of days because I hate

taking them, so I'd forgotten completely! Guess it's time to hit the

acidophilus, huh? Thanks so much for jogging my addled brain about this! I bet

that's

the answer! Marilyn

--I found a website last night that sort of explained it, although the

book of course would be more helpful. Sounded complicated, though, and like it

restricts a LOT! That being said, it also sounds as though it may very well be

helpful to many people. Me? Maybe. I'm going to buy the book, I think, and

take a closer look. Thanks! Marilyn

Ah, but didn't THE BLOB come first?

It's about the science of digestion, and what not to eat that your body is

less equipped (or not equipped at all) to digest so that your digestive

tract can regain its health. It's not the be-all and end-all of books on

what to eat because it focuses on digestibility to the exclusion of

nutrient density, food sources and other issues, but it's a very useful book.

I've always had luck with using potatoes to draw out salt. If you soak it in

water and gently boil with a few potatoes it may help.

Kefir doesn't sound nearly as incredibly weird to me as kombucha or even

fermenting veggies.....but then I was born and bred on dairy products and LOVE

them in all forms more than anything else.

Carol

Kefir still sounds incredibly weird. But at least I found my commerical

brand, to start with, that I like. Someday soon maybe I'll get brave enough to

make

my own. Marilyn
