I was just getting ready to ask the same question. Our pediatrician has

recommended giving our AS son one as well as not giving it to my other son who

has speech appraxia, which is unusual for a pediatrician not to recommend

vaccinating.

I read somewhere recently (maybe the local paper) that flu shots without

Thimerosal have been delayed for distribution, so flu shots available now will

either contain traces of Thimerosal or more. Her are some of the ingredients

used to make vaccines, like flu shots.

Do you want any of the following vaccine constituents in YOUR bloodstream?

* Ethylene glycol (antifreeze)

* Phenol, also known as carbolic acid (this is used as a disinfectant,

dye)

* Formaldehyde, a known cancer-causing agent

* Aluminum, which is associated with Alzheimer's disease and seizures

and also cancer producing in laboratory mice (it is used as an additive to

promote antibody response, it's also in most deodorants).

* Thimerosal (a mercury disinfectant/preservative) can result in brain

injury and autoimmune disease

* Neomycin and Streptomycin (used as antibiotics) have caused allergic

reaction in some people.

Vaccines are also grown and strained through animal or human tissue like

monkey kidney tissue, chicken embryo, embryonic guinea pig cells, calf serum,

and human diploid cells (the dissected organs of aborted human fetuses as in the

case of rubella, hepatitis A, and chickenpox vaccines).

Just thought you would like to know, but you can always ask your doctor for

an insert from the flu vaccine so you can research the ingredients beforehand.

I dont trust that it would be free of mercury. There is currently

no

ban on mercury in Texas. I just read an article the other day that

California is going to have shortages since they are now a mercury

free state and there are not enough doses to go around there. If

thats

the case Im sure they wont be sending any our way.

to my knowlege ONLY the flu shots for the 6-23 month olds are mercury *free*

...they still even have a tiny trace of mercury though ..........any other age

range must be specialy ordered.

Also ...from what I understand this years flu vaccination is based on last

years flu. Since there are many many strains of the flu virus its a science of

guessing and they may or may not have made the right vaccination this year.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the quick response. I guess we will

NOT be getting flu shots. As mentioned, it's a guessing game anyway as to

the correct strains, so why take the risk, right? It continues to amaze me

that people with medical backgrounds actually think it is ok to inject that

stuff into the bloodstream of tiny little babies, let alone adults. I think

my daughter was only about 4 lbs when she got her first round of 4 different

shots.

I have heard the amount of aluminum has been increased in the supposedly mercury

free. Two independant sources conducted studies on vaccines gathered from all

over the country which was touted as mercury free with only a trace of mercury.

Both sources found the vaccines to have the same amount of mercury that were in

vaccines before the supposedly mercury free vaccines. We can all draw our own

conclusions. Also, 18 months ago a friend of my son wanted to talk to me after

hearing from son that I think vaccines are harmful. He was at the hospital in

San where his son had been born hours earlier. I told him that some

parents had asked to see the insert that comes with the vial they will use for

the Hep B shot that they were pressuring them to allow them to give the infant.

He asked how to spell Thimerosal and then hours later surprised me when he said

it did have mercury in it! The nurses had insisted before that it did not and

when shown themselves said they had been told the Hep B did not have mercury in

it. Again, draw your own conclusions. One more important point to this is that

the CDC has admitted that the flu shot does have mercury in it. They haven't

reduced the amount, and at the same time has recommened the flu shot for

infants!
