I am wondering if there is a special diet or supplementation to help our kids with high Eosoniphils -- my son seems stimmy and hyper like something is getting to him -- he is on NO sugar carbs or starches on the SCD diet and he seems more connected and aware but swings from sad to happy to connected to stimming on string-- this is so hard to figure out but the high creatine and eosonophils does make me wonder if there is more i can do to help him feel better...i do no supplements right now because everything we give him makes him worse...i am wondering if I should start GSE or something to help with gut issues in addition to diet...??? any other insights on allergic responses is greatly appreciated!personalcargo@... wrote: Hi....we've been living an eosinophil nightmare...mine were elevated during my pregnancy and I was diagnosed with rhuematoid arthritis (it was evil...more like fibromyalgia+RA+AGITATION) and I was put on steroids, ibuprofin.....90% resolution for me with diet, nystatin and diflucan along with "super greens". My little guy had gut issues from the get go...and was diagnosed with eosinophilic esaughagus and later entercolitis. We've done it all on the in the NYC area. We just had our first decent scope in 2.5 years...In march we started an herbal program (AOP) and by August his lagging lymphocyte count was normal, monocytes slightly high (creatinine still low) then last Wednesday more scopes (and rob that blood bank while he's out)....the eosinophils are

almost gone (some in distal esaughagus with hiatal hernia--not allergic in nature) and his monocyte count is even higher (a good sign as he steadily makes developmental progress). Eosinophils and monocytes get to work on parasites. Here's the clincher...we just delivered 15 poop samples on Monday (7 more to go--this is no fun!) on my older son and one test is back--Giardia. So I google that during lunch and can't even begin to isolate where he/we got that....Our GI is stunned, but pulling out all the stops to get as much done in network as possible. Diet is important....carbs/starches and sugars gotta go. More labs to go...and then we can address metals...but kinda diggin our Myhrr for yeast etc....no sinus/ear infections...no adverse reactions (nystatin and diflucan was so so)....and no more antibiotics...my older one just broke out in rashes with Anilia and Flagyl. My little guy doesn't tolerate the

antibiotics...but all his reactions are so delayed. What a journey!lisa Re: Blood Work Lab Results - Supplementation Inquiry When our doctor sees high esoinophils he immediately questions diet - this is an allergen response. Cheryl my son's labs came back at the high range for Creatine and has been having symptoms of running to bathroom alot and nothing coming out..dr says no worries but he is not a DAN dr and his Eosonophils were also high-- anything i can do to help get these two in range...he has lots of stimming with string, eye pushing and hyperactive and is non verbal on SCD for four weeks now...any insights are appreciated...Beth Sutton <live4luke> wrote: I'm not a pro at this, by any means, but I am and nurse with some background in biomedical and my son is just a little younger than yours.... His creatinine (which is the main indicator of kidney function) is a little low--I wouldn't worry about that too much--during detox, that may bump up a bit. You would not want creatinine to be out of range high. Calcium a tad high which doesn't necessarily mean he has enough but may mean he's taking out of bone sources. Essential minerals I think are best for determining true Calcium status but just a tenth of a point high is not a big deal in the medical world. Your DAN! will have more comments about this. AST is definitely high and concerning--there is some definite liver stress going on. Are you on Diflucan or anything? Alk phos is typically elevated in toddlers during growth spurts, however, consistent

elevation can also mean gluten allergy or other things but I wouldn't be that concerned about that number. Lactic acid is high--his body is under stress, for sure--your pediatrician and DAN! should know about that. It could mean a variety of things, infection, improper metabolism, etc.--look up Lactic acidosis on the internet. I have not had that tested in my son but that is definitely a red flag. Vitamin D I'm unsure about but I know a lot of kids are deficient in Vit D which is also a good immune modulator. My son's copper level was 150 and Pfeiffer Treatment said that was "sever copper toxicity" Are you giving zinc yet?? They rec. 55mg zinc/d for my son but I don't give that much. If you're son doesn't respond well to supps, I would consider a different protocol.  Maybe look into the NIDS protocol instead.  My son did not do well on supps at all.  DAN just wasn't the right fit for him.  NIDS was exactly what he needed.  www.neuroimmunedr.com and www.nids.netCherylOn Dec 14, 2007, at 5:41 PM, ann andress wrote:I am wondering if there is a special diet or supplementation to help  our kids with high Eosoniphils -- my son seems stimmy and hyper like something is getting to him -- he is on NO sugar carbs or starches on the SCD diet and he seems more connected and aware but swings from sad to happy to connected to stimming on string-- this is so hard to figure out but the high creatine and eosonophils does make me wonder if there is more i can do to help him feel better...i do no supplements right now because everything we give him makes him worse...i am wondering if I should start GSE or something to help with gut issues in addition to diet...??? any other insights on allergic responses is greatly appreciated!personalcargoaol wrote:Hi....we've been living an eosinophil nightmare...mine were elevated during my pregnancy and I was diagnosed with rhuematoid arthritis (it was evil...more like fibromyalgia+RA+AGITATION) and I was put on steroids, ibuprofin.....90% resolution for me with diet, nystatin and diflucan along with "super greens".  My little guy had gut issues from the get go...and was diagnosed with eosinophilic esaughagus and later entercolitis.  We've done it all on the in the NYC area.  We just had our first decent scope in 2.5 years...In march we started an herbal program (AOP) and by August his lagging lymphocyte count was normal, monocytes slightly high (creatinine still low) then last Wednesday more scopes (and rob that blood bank while he's out)....the eosinophils are almost gone (some in distal esaughagus with hiatal hernia--not allergic in nature) and his monocyte count is even higher (a good sign as he steadily makes developmental progress). My little guy doesn't tolerate the antibiotics...but all his reactions are so delayed. What a journey!lisa  Re: Blood Work Lab Results - Supplementation InquiryWhen our doctor sees high esoinophils he immediately questions diet - this is an allergen response.Cherylmy son's labs came back at the high range for Creatine and has been having symptoms of running to bathroom alot and nothing coming out..dr says no worries but he is not a DAN dr and his Eosonophils were also high-- anything i can do to help get these two in range...he has lots of stimming with string, eye pushing and hyperactive and is non verbal on SCD for four weeks now...any insights are appreciated...Beth Sutton <live4luke> wrote:I'm not a pro at this, by any means, but I am and nurse with some background in biomedical and my son is just a little younger than yours....His creatinine (which is the main indicator of kidney function) is a little low--I wouldn't worry about that too much--during detox, that may bump up a bit. Is there a local DR in Philly, PA area that we could go to to help us with the NIDS protocol. I am afraid os not using naturals as my son reacts to all meds especially diflucan with extreme rages so i am afraid of that one...but do like the anti viral approach with anti yeast...Cheryl Lowrance wrote: If you're son doesn't respond well to supps, I would consider a different protocol. No, I'm afraid there are only 3 places that offer the NIDS protocol.  Nidsnnyclinic.org (probably the closest to you), Dr. in Texas and of course, Dr. G in Ca.CherylIs there a local DR in Philly, PA area that we could go to to help us with the NIDS protocol.  I am afraid os not using naturals as my son reacts to all meds especially diflucan with extreme rages so i am afraid of that one...but do like the anti viral approach with anti yeast...Cheryl Lowrance <c.lowranceca (DOT) rr.com> wrote:If you're son doesn't respond well to supps, I would consider a different protocol.
