Guest guest
I don't know. I discovered both of my kids are allergic to almonds. I occasionally buy other nut flours from digestivewellness.com or cashew butter at the health food store. I use nut products sparingly in conjunction w/bean flours. If you join the pecanbread list serve @ pecanbread.com they can probably answer your questions. Guest guest
Trader Joe's sells almond flour for 3.69 a pound-about 8 dollars a pound less than other retailers around our area. I vuy it and shp it to my friends back in NY who can't get it for a good price :)valmcin wrote: You can often buy ground nuts at the baking supply store. They dontcall it flour, just finely ground nuts. All nuts can be available. Find a good store that is very busy to ensure freshness or ask thestore to let you know when they get fresh stock in. To make groundnuts I use the S blade on a food processor and pulse then scrape thesides, then pulse, then scrape. Takes very little time but you willwant to do quite a bit at a time so the processor can grab them. Forvery small quantities you can use a coffee grinder. Hope that helps,Val>> Is it possible to make your own almond (or other nut) flour without > coming up with almond butter in the process?
