Guest guest
That's what I thought--he's had yeast issues in the past that we cleared up. It's so easy for it to come back though. What's the best natural yeast fighters to give him with the vit. C?? Thanks, See AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter. Guest guest
That's quite a bit. (You can probably go that high, but maybe your child can't tolerate.)Do you use ascorbic acid/buffered? How long have you been on Vit C? Did you work up? We started with 500mg day and then increased to 1000mg. (500mg Am / 500mg PM) My son is 4yrs and 52 lbs. Too much can cause diareah. Guest guest
Also, make sure you only get pure ascorbic acid. The supplements with added rose hips, citrus, or whatever can cause problems to some sensitive kids. My son will get hyper on those Cs. Make sure you start low like suggested in the previous post, and increase slowly. Jenn Re: Vitamin C and increased stims (hand flapping) That's quite a bit. Guest guest
Hi, I did kind of start high--I started with 750mg of Allergy C from Twin labs. Then I went up to 1500mg and then 3000mg in just a couple days. I'll try cutting back and see if it helps without stims. Thanks, /NJ > > > Hi, > > > > I gave my son 3000mg C today and he's stimming more > > than usual (pacing > > and hand flapping). Is this normal? Guest guest
, its best to go low and slow with supplementation with small incremental changes. For us, each time we up anything, say Folacal, there is a price to pay. The viruses will flare up, then yeast goes up, the ammonia goes up, there is some detox, then the gut needs support. So with anything that pushes the methylation cycle you need to up the anti-virals, up the anti-fungals (for us anti-bacterials follows soon after), you need to mop up the ammonia, you need to provide additional gut support, provide additional sulphur support. You can read Yasko's website (its all free at www.ch3nutrigenomics.com) for the methylation cycle information. She also has a new supplement list out that details different supplement supports for type of problem area. Actually it would be a good idea to run the $625 genetics and see what your child might need. It helps you understand the process a bit better so that you know what you need to do to help your child. Ballpark indicator at the very least, the whole program works to a T for very few but it really helps you understand the big picture. My 2 cents.
