Guest guest
It is better to do the diflucan and the valtrex together. Nystatin really isn't good enough. You could try it but not many of us have had success with it. It's not a systemic antifungal so it only kills what it comes in contact with. Starting Valtrex 3 weeks into the diflucan should work out well for you but I would see if you can talk your doc into extending the diflucan as long as you can.CherylHi Group-we have been biomedical for 5 years and just found a Dr here inOntario that can lead us through the antivirals etc. We have justcompleted 8 weeks of nystatin and starting diflucan in a couple ofdays. We have the Rx for valtrex that we requested as well. De has suggested to finish 4 weeks of diflucan in increasingdoses then going back to a maintenance dose of nystatin and at thattime doing valtrex. I have been reading here since October and seemsthat many of you advise to do the valtrex and diflucan together. Ithought about starting the valtrex on week 3 of the diflucan whichwill take us to the first week of January. That way he is home with uson Christmas holidays when he starts the valtrex and we can watch himclosely.Could be too much all at once? Thanks for your advice!Val
