Guest guest
Andy... Was it you that said you'd started taking CLA? I'm almost 90% sure it was you that posted some info on CLA and the amounts you should take. I bought some (good deal at GNC) and they are 1000mg pills (i've seen smaller suppositories) Anyway, I was sure it was 4000mg a day that the study you posted suggested. This is 4 times what the bottle recommends. ack... confirmation on this?? Lana P.S....... Guest guest
I did post some info on it, but haven't taken it. I believe the study quoted 3 gm (3000 mg) as being the optimal amount to take. Maybe less would work? I remember somone on here ( M.) saying they took it. Guest guest
That was me....I am taking 3000mg a day split 2000 AM/1000 PM. I am hypoglycemic/insulin resitant. That is the main reason I take it. For that puspose, it may have had some positive effects. But then again...if I eat 1000% BFL and I am working out, it's hard to attribute my success at avoiding blood sugar crashes to the CLA alone. Articles I read suggested that you needed to take 3.4 grams a day to realize the benefits. I am not convinced it does anything though as far as fat. BUT I haven't been as diligent about the gym and my eating for over amonth now so....keep that in mind. But then again...if that is the case...is it th GYM or the CLA that is the source of the benefit? My advice would be, if you are not going to be consistent and diligent with taking it...don't waste your money. For others not familiar with Conjugated Linoleic Acid - these are the claimed benefits of CLA: Increases metabolic rate Decreases abdominal fat Enhances muscle growth Lowers cholesterol and triglycerides Lowers insulin resistance Reduces food-induced allergic reactions Enhances immune system Cheers...off to fight my way through all the new year resolvers at the gym...YUCK...January at the ym is the worst....AH well. Gotta take care of the bod. - > > Andy... > > > > Was it you that said you'd started taking CLA? Guest guest
The latest study conducted at Scandinavian Clinical Research says that 3.4 g per day had a beneficial effect on lowering body fat percentage. Participants who took 6.8 g daily had the most results and a slight increase in lean muscle mass. MP
Guest guest
Lana, I will be very curious to see how it goes for ya with the CLA. I just read MP's post and I may just up it to 4000 mg. Hey MP do you know if there is any risk in taking too much? My Gold's today had the requisite new year resolvers signing up, asking all sorts of questions at the front desk. I figure the crowded chaos will only last a couple weeks...then it will be back to normal. Hopefully my DH, who is on day 4 of working out with me, will not be one of those who falls off after just a few weeks. Gotta whip him into shape. He calls me up in the middle of the day just to say " Bye the way my x hurts " refering to the soreness that I am responsible for inflicting on him. I *Grin* with pleasure...didn't realize I had a sadistic side. Cheers, > Thanks ... > > I coulda swore it was Andy (not that he needs to remove abdominal fat > > I've spent the $ already, so I'll definately be dilligent using it.
