<We went shopping at the outlet malls yesterday, and I swore to

myself, until I could get into a size 10, I would not buy any new

clothes. Well, here she is buying size 2's, and 4's. Most stores I

would sit in the front of the store and just wait for her, because 1,

I was tired of the way the sale's people were treating me and 2,

because none of that stuff would fit on my pinky finger. Anyhoo,

yesterday was a bad day and I'm hoping today will make up for it.>

I completely relate.....she 'has' what you 'want'... a size 2 or 4, or in

general, she's thin. She did it the fast easy way, you're doing it the hard,

slow way, or so you feel. It's 'Jealousy'. But like you said, she lost fat

and muscle...she's toooo thin, and she probably looks anorexic..NOT what you

want. I work with models all day, and I see how thin they are and how the

guys on the job swoon after them and I get a weird perception in my head.

I'm a size 8-9 and I feel too fat.....they're not swooning over me. But

then you have to realize.... her perception and yours are different. You

can't compare your goals to hers. You want more and you're not there yet

and that's ok. You HAVE to do it for you. The old saying, do it for

yourself and no one else. It's sooo true. I'm working out every day and

eating right every day for me. Not for some guy to swoon over me, not to

get into a size whatever, not for the scale to register a certain number,

but just to be able to look in the mirrow and like what I see. That's it.

Period. My goals. You have yours. Stick to it. Don't let your emotions

eat away your ambition, your motivation. Forget about her, and bring it

back to you and the reasons why YOU'RE doing what you need to do. For

yourself. No one else. You'll get there............that's a fact.

Can I hear an " Amen " sister?

I had the same problem... wanting to loose weight so that people would find

me attractive (I've never felt attractive, was usually fairly shy and

self-conscious, and had a very poor self image). And then, I realized

something very important. You have to improve for YOURSELF, and not anyone

else. Do this because you want to, not because you want people to like

you... the change outside will change the inside. Your self-confidence will

grow, you self-esteem will grow, and you slowly begin to reflect the outside

on the inside. I know, it's a vicious cycle, but, hell, it's well worth it.

Now, Leigh... dust yourself off, pick yourself up, and get back in the ring

like the fighter you are...
