Guest guest
My son has Medicaid and I was just informed that he is due for his annual Well Child exam. Great. I asked the pediatrician what would be required and she said that the Hep A shot was required if he's in school, which he is. So, is there any way out of this? I've been told that if I decline vaccinations that he could lose his Medicaid eligibility - which was granted as part of the adoption. Has anyone been through this? Will the conscious exemption work? Hi , My son doesn't get Medicaid but in May he had to see his pedi for a well child check up in order to attend a summer day camp program and she said she recommended the Hep A shot for him since he had already had one in the series years before and so he needed to make up this shot. I said no, he didn't need it because I considered him to be low risk for contracting it. His doctor asked me to sign a form stating I rejected the shot. She didn't fuss at me at all. No one has called, nothing has happened and he's still going to school (it's private but immunizations are required/recommended there too). Guest guest
Do you have an affidavit on file with the school? I have medicaid and have affidavits on file with the schol. I havent been hassled about it, no letters from medicaid or anything like that. Since the affidavit states for reason of conscience which may include a religious reason I would think that medicaide dosent have a right to interfere with your religious freedom. --------------------------------- Stay in the know.
