Ian, you're absolutely right ... but GEEZ! (re: the stupid " old dear " )

" Manchurian Candidate " statement is well said!

My Canadian buddy's always ribbing me about the stupidity of the naïve and

gullible " adult children " who pass for American citizens. After living in

Israel in the early 80's, I returned home to a 12 " high pile of major media

rags, magazines and so forth, that my mom had saved for me. I read them all,

and what a load of propaganda! It was at that point that I vowed to NEVER

listen to or believe ANYTHING in the news again. Not only did they OMIT

RELEVANT facts, but they " spun " the remaining facts to actually REVERSE the

reality THAT EVERYBODY OVER THERE KNOW as we lived in the very midst of it.

Talk about a brainwashing machine!?! ... Chris

You can't be too hard on her. Please remember that people today are more

gullible than ever before. It seems that the more comfortable a people

become, the more gullible and easily misled they are:

Take for example the people today: We are better fed, clothed, housed,

and often well employed. Our governments know that as long as our basic

needs are met we will remain docile and controllable. Having lived in the

United States many years and being a resident of the UK until fairly

recently I can attest to this.

There none so gullible as Americans and Britons. They believe virtually

everything they are told by the major media. If it is broadcast on CNN or

published in the New York Times it is as if the words dripped from God's own

lips. I have never encountered a more gullible, ignorant, easiy-misled, and

thorougly cloistered people than these.

Gone are the thinkers, the heroes, the patriots [a word thrown about

willy-nilly these days ... Patriot] for they are all dead, in hiding, or in

jail.

This little old lady was brought up from birth believing that she lived in

the best country in the world, that the rest of the entire world was pretty

much 3rd world, that Americans are always right and the rest of the world

wrong, that her country was the saviour of the world and was leading the

vanguard of freedom and democracy as a role model to the planet. She was

fed hook, line, and sinker ... these lies for over 70 years. Talk about a

Manchurian Candidate! One of nearly 300 million.

Best wishes, don't be too hard on the old dear, she just doesn't know

better.
