" Yes, gay life is shallow as all hell. We've already said it, but it bears repeating: the one who will love you for yourself won't care what you look like. Thus, a better reason to improve your appearance is so that _you'll_ feel good enough about yourself to accept that special love when it's offered. My qualifications for the above: when I was 37, about 6 months before I met my one and only, I went on a crash course on self-improvement. To fix the superficial stuff, I got down to the size and weight I was in high school, I got braces to correct my crooked teeth, and I started wearing a toupee. To fix the other stuff, I started giving 10% of my salary (before taxes!) to my church. (No, the First Baptist Church of Columbia, MO did NOT pay me to say that; I'm just extremely superstitious when it comes to tithing. If there's something you want from God, I'd strongly recommend giving 10% of your income to your church / charity of choice.) At any rate, _whatever_ your motivation, you decided at some point to become more healthy, and you found that the BFL program works. That's enough. Stick with it! -- Hugh Emerson _________________________________________________________
