Guest guest
I need to chime in about the Red Cross screening and how inept it about apparently is. I did not get infected from blood from RC, and still don't know how I got Hep C. But when I was trying to narrow down when I might have gotten the disease, I called RC about my last blood donation. That was in 2006. They said I showed no indication of it.....according to them I didn't have the disease at that time. Well in June of this year, less than 4 years after that, I am stage 2. My Dr says there is little chance that I have only gotten Hep C since 2006, since it is so slow progressing. Which means they didn't check my blood thoroughly enough and therefore gave that blood to someone else, most likely infecting them. The Dr. said their testing very flawed! Very scary and this could be one reason why Hep C seems to be on the rise. Thanks for letting me sound off. I am so upset about this and when I read about the Public Service Announcements and that Red Cross doesn't want to do them, I just had to add my comments.
