Guest guest
While many states are trying to prohibit the owning of a community cow (cow shares) I don't see any having fits about folks wanting to own a pig or horse shares. We've raised hogs as well as beef and sold a whole or a half or a quarter share to folks. We've taken them to slaughter and the meat was divided up and that was the end. No problem. My grand daughter owns 1/2 a horse which is kept at our place, we own the other half as she was so young when it was given to her. Will the USDA be here soon to tell us that we aren't allowed to have horse shares and board this horse for her? I doubt it. This milk phobia the gov't has is just too much. While I'm ranting. Are all dairy operations privately owned? One person owns the entire operation? No " shares " out there for anyone else. Kinda doubt it. I'm sure there are large dairies owned by a corporation or a group of people. Dairies where the milk is handled by others and distributed or collected by yet a third party. Sooo would the illegality of cow shares put an end to these large dairy operations? Something tells me no. Enough of my wondering and ranting. I'm off to milk the goats, by myself, for myself with no shares for anyone. Belinda
