This may sound like a crazy idea ... but times are crazy right now with so many losing their jobs and/or looking for additional work.

The military has INCREDIBLE benefits for children with special needs.

My husband is retired now but we seriously considered him reenlisting several years ago just to get the additional therapy money that is available to active duty military. Healthcare is paid at 100% and includes ABA therapy. The military offers a secure job (haven't heard of any lay-offs), good work hours, lots of paid vacation and good $$$ supplements for housing and utilities. Most posts/bases have wonderful support groups for all members of the family and offer assistance to families who need activities, physical/financial assistance, In addition, they have representatives who help you navigate the school system and step in to assist if you need it ... schools receive extra dollars for children of military members, in my experience, this leads to an increased desire from the schools to ensure these children are done right by.

Not the answer for all, but maybe somebody out there would benefit from talking with a recruiter about options ... Uncle Sam is always hiring :) There are so many different types of jobs available and the military takes cares of all your travel and moving expenses. I am thankful for the years of service my husband put in for our country ... I am more thankful for the benefits our country has given us back for his service so that we can cover our children's medical needs.
