Its interesting that we are actually importing that stuff, odd given how much of it our military is using these days. It never really made much sense to me why we import so much of our military equipment in the first place. Not only explosives it seems but also high end electronics, radars and computers, etc.

I remember the US Navy's Pegasus Hydrofoil patrol boat ran into trouble because one of its key components, the radar system, was made in Germany. For some reason, the radar was no longer available after four units were produced and that was the end of the class. They would be useful today against drug smugglers in their fast boats, which can outrun most of the what Coast Guard and Navy have in inventory.

Port police knew the shipment of pentaerythritol tetranitrate was coming from overseas and had extra security in place, Morehead City Fire Chief Wes Lail said. He would not say who imported the chemical or where it came from. U.S. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Mike Hvozda said the ship's last port of call was in Spain, but he was not sure what city.

I've never understood why ANY military force would want to buy ANY complex weapons technology from another country. Anything with a computer in it risks having the implantation of a receiver within it, said receiver being capable of accepting a signal to shut down the weapon.

What if we bought our military hardware from our future enemies, and they flicked a switch that blew up our missiles on the launch pads or shut down our tanks on the battlefield, or caused our planes to blow up in flight?

And why don't we implant such technology in weaponry we are selling now? Many of the weapons we fought against in Iraq I & II were one purchased from the US. Just shut them down and our battles would have been even easier.
