The premier's office provided few details, beyond confirming that he would have heart surgery and saying that it was not necessarily a routine procedure. Deputy Premier Kathy Dunderdale is scheduled to hold a news conference Tuesday morning. She's expected to provide more details about 's condition, as well as how the provincial government will function during his absence. CBC reporter Cochrane said appeared to be in good health recently. He described the premier as "fairly active," playing pick-up hockey at least once a week when work permits. Well, that in a nutshell tells the whole story about the Canadian Health Care system, doesn't it? For those Americans who believe that a nationalize health care system is the way to go, ask yourselves why a premier (which is the equivalent to a state governor) is going to America for his surgery instead of waiting in line like the rest of his fellow Canadians until his turn at bat comes up. If the national healthcare bill passes, we'll all go on waiting lists and have to travel to other countries to get our health needs met. Start saving your money for all the expensive travel people.
