Thank you, Heidi Fernandez Subject: GASLC Summer Camps Summer Camps Talking Tots Talking Tots for toddler’s age 18 months up to 3 years will address your child’s language and development skills through fun and engaging themed activities. Facilitated by a speech-language pathologist, the program is designed to improve social interactions, play skills, language comprehension, use of basic language concepts, and vocabulary expansion. Your child will enjoy theme-based sessions to capture their interest and enhance overall communication. Music, literature, socialization, and FUN will add to the children’s experience. Camps are offered for 2 hour sessions on time per week for 6 weeks. Themes include: Mickey Mouse, Sesame Street, Dora and Diego, Curious , Blue’s Clues, and Clifford. Age 18 months up to 3 years Wednesday’s June 9, 2010 to July 21, 2010 (We will skip the week of July 7th) 6 week program one time per week 9:00am to 11:00am Cost $300 Camp Exploration Camp Exploration for preschooler’s ages 3 to 5 years will give your child an opportunity to investigate new and exciting topics while improving social skills, teaching new vocabulary, experimenting with art, learning games, and addressing comprehension and use of language concepts. A speech-language pathologist will guide your children through a journey to improve overall communication using literature, discovery, adventure, games movement, language activities and FUN! Pre-reading, math, and science bases will enhance the foundation for our expedition. Camps are offered from 9am to 1pm for a weeklong voyage. Themes include: Pirates and Princesses, Nature, The World of Cooking, Game Playing, and Exploring the Community. Age 3 to 5 years July 19, 2010 to July 23, 2010 Weeklong Program 9:00am to 1:00pm Cost $300 Step It Up- into Basic Skills Step It Up for school age children 5 years old and up will offer your child a chance to enhance basic academic skills including math, language arts, phonics, handwriting, music, and art. Get your child ready for a successful start for the new school year. Ages 5 years and up 1st Session June 7, 2010 to June 11, 2010 2nd Session June 14, 2010 to June 18, 2010 3rd Session June 21, 2010 to Junes 25, 2010 Weeklong Program but please feel free to sign up for multiple weeks. 9:00am to 3:00pm Cost $300 Energy Booster Ready! Set! Play! Energy boosters participants will engage in games and activities aimed at acquisition and development of basic physical skills. Skills addressed will be strength, core stability, coordination, agility, balance, and endurance both muscular and cardio-respiratory. July 12, 2010 to July 16, 2010 Weeklong program 9:00am to 3:00pm Cost $300 PALS-Practicing and Learning Social Skills PALS-Practicing and Learning Social Skills is for children 10 years old and up and will address peer interactions during social situations. Children will practice social pragmatic exercises and have FUN. Children will improve how they initiate interactions, comprehension, verbal expression, abstract language and limit “verberiaâ€. Negation skills and problem solving strategies will also be addressed. Ages 10 years and up July 19, 2010 to July 23, 2010 9:00am to 3:00pm Cost $300 Speech Aerobics An exciting program that combines exercise and language stimulation to enhance social skills, promote language development, build coordination, and strengthen muscle tone.
