I wondered if I was infested with parasites. There were actually two times in my life that this happened. Sometimes I would eat close to 2 lbs of raw cabbage a day, or a mixture of raw cabbage and raw broccoli. It was a bizarre compulsion. I was very slim to begin with, so there was no value to the weight loss at all. Even if I had been heavy, I do not advocate this as a way to lose weight, as you can imagine. It isn't a pleasant experience by any means. It makes you feel quite terrible, really. Also, I think that I damaged my intestines a bit with it, but finally they seem to be healing. BTW, I always enjoy reading your posts!
Guest guest
I should have added that in order to gain back the weight I lost, I had to eat a tremendous amount of food. I had scared people by how small I had become, so I wanted to gain the weight back rather quickly so people would stop assuming I had deliberately lost it (that I was borderline anorexic, which wasn't the case). I'm only 5 feet tall, but I work out a lot (weight training), so I need more food than most women my size. So, I was packing in 3000 or more calories a day, largely by eating organic raw milk cheese. I was suprised that I could digest it so well. I would eat it on it's own, a pack at a time (half a pound a day or more) plus other fairly rich foods. Now I can't digest that same cheese very well at all. An ounce a day is about all I can manage. Funny how things change.
