Guest guest Posted June 9, 2011 Report Share Posted June 9, 2011 Hello all. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not you can call the SSA to check on the status of a claim. Meaning, will they actually tell you anything over the phone. I applied back on March 28th, for both of my boys, and was told that it would take 3 to 5 months. I know it hasn't even been 3 months yet and that's why I'm asking if anyone with experience knows whether or not they will actually tell me anything over the phone. I tried to use the online status check but I was never given a confirmation number. All I have are case numbers and that isn't the same thing according to the SSA website. Thanks!
