Thanks Bob for the recipe book suggestion. I am going over to

Kerrville and will look at the bookstore for it.

Even if my viral load is zero, it could become active anytime. Am I

correct in that?

My best understanding is that they cannot tell you

that your viral count is zero. It takes a certain

amount to be considered " detectable " . So the question

is, if you are undetectable is the virus really gone?

According to my doctor, if I am undetectable at the

end of tx(I was undetectable at 6 mos) they will

schedule a test 6 mos after ending tx, and if still

undetectable they will schedule another test 1 year

after ending tx, and if I am still undetectable they

will consider that I am in remission. He told me at

that point it would be " over 90% " odds that the

disease would not bother me anymore. -dz-

I have heard varying reports. At first I heard 60%,

then later heard that the 60% figure only referred to

responders and many of them relapsed. Many figures

consider all genotypes and type 1's, which most of us

are, have a lower success rate. The best I could come

up with was between 30-40% for long term success. I'm

thinking that healthy habits and avoiding alcohol

might stack the odds a little more in your favor.

Dave, I honestly don't know how I got my Hep C.... Living in the fast lane over here sure could do it though.I found out I needed glasses. Now figure this one out for me ok....If a person KNOWS they can't see well, why is it they have to pay someone to tell them too? Why is it you just can't walk in and say I need glasses. Let's just find some that will be good for me and just omit the Doc. payment..we could judt pay his assistant whom already knows what to do!!!It's just luck that my sister-in-law works for an eye place and is getting the frames and lens for me at a discount..All I cared about is that I don't look stupid with them!! hahaha.Well Diane is gone for a while and SJ is on her way back to Oregon and Lynnjoy's hubby had a gallbladder surgery.......So where is Vicky?? Get in touch soon so I don't feel all alone in here!!!

I know what you mean. I lived in New Orleans and spent

most of my time and money down in the French Quarter.

This was probably around the time I contracted this

dragon and I was using and drinking as if it was a

contest. -dz-

I noticed the traffic has been down a little lately. I

was sick as a dog again yesterday. It was a little

different though, I have been sick early in the day

and getting better in the evening, yesterday I felt ok

in the morning and got worse as the day went on. So

far today I'm doing ok. -dz-
