Guest guest
" CLO tastes awful " Not ALL CLO tastes bad....GOL's tastes alright, Carlson's " lemon " tasted pretty good actually, and Nordic Naturals tastes OK..... " and for vitamin D one can eat fatty fish and/or expose oneself for the sun. " ....and eating alot of fatty fish has it's disadvantages with all the mercury present in the world, and also many folks would probably rush right out and buy ANY fish....probably " farm- raised " ...so the fatty acid profile wouldn't be any good, ...among other issues.... ...and it all depends on where you live.....I understand that most of the central United States does not get intense enought sun for 9 mos. of the year....and most people really don't spend enough time in the sun everyday anyway....and most, when they do, use " sunblocks " ...so it probably isn't that easy to get vit D those ways.... The thing that I wonder about CLO is that it is so unstable and goes rancid easily in heat....and our bodies are pretty warm....I take a capsule of natural, mixed vitamin E with my CLO now...don't know if that " fixes " that.....but it sounds good :-) I have also read that fish oils can lower a man's sperm count to zero...and that it raises the mortality rates in canines.....ever heard any of that? I'm just not so sure about CLO either....Dr. Mercola highly recommends it....that's about the only reason I believe in it at all....and I DON'T think that the Dr. is just trying to push fish oils....I hear that from time to time from " sceptics " of Dr. M...that's ridiculous.....I will not believe he makes his living off of " fish oils " that he doesn't even produce.....how crazy....people seem to like to attack anybody.....he " pushes " whole, real foods and vegetable juices too....and he sure as heck isn't making any $$ off of that....I personally (for now...) take " fish oil " June thru August....and " CLO " Sept. thru May. The last time I was up to Mercola's office....I had been taking CLO as recommended for a while, and my vitamin D levels were perfect....right where he wanted it....he was happy to see my levels that good, but he was quite cautious with " overdoing " CLO....and did recommend getting tested ocassionally....definitely a good way to find out what the dose is that would keep your levels optimal....and you don't have to go to Dr. M's office to get that checked....so... no, he's not " pushing " vitamin D tests :-) -- Steve -- Steve

I get MorEPA from www.1stvitality.co.uk - it is fish oil less the vit A - I don't have a problem with it. Or are you a vegan? I've been wondering about vit A deficiency in myself. I had some liver last week for the first time in months, and I noticed today that the spots at the top of my arms are all but gone. Also, the spots on my face have massively improved since then. Can vit A prevent spots on the face? I eat eggs most days (normally lightly scrambled, although I have switched to raw yolks in the last few days in my smoothies), and eat plenty of chicken. Would cooking the eggs reduce my absorption of vit A, or even destroy the vit A in the egg? As for the game birds - I would love to eat pheasant and pigeon, but it's a rarity to see it around here. I plan to go further afield to some village butchers next weekend to see if I can find any. Oh, and I don't like turkey.... I don't even eat it on Xmas day with my family (in the UK, turkey is the traditional Xmas day meat) Jo ___________________________________________________________ALL-NEW Messenger - all new features - even more fun! http://uk.messenger. I've had bumps on the backs of my arms that disappeared when I started getting enough A. Perhaps if you keep up the level of A for a while, you can gauge how it effects your complexion. --s

How big are they? And, what do > you > mean by improved? Do you mean disappeared? The ones on my arms are small and red, and don't normally have a head. The ones on my face vary - some very large painful blind spots that are cyst-like (I link these to dairy consumption) and others small and sore which develop into a head. Both generally leave a scar.
